Smith is a degreed and registered engineer providing professional services in the field of industrial process control. CSC specializes in PLC (programmable logic controller), HMI (human-machine interface) and DCS (distributed control system) services for industrial facilities. Services include system architecture design, control panel design, programming, documentation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project management.

POWER PLANT CONTROLS
CSC provides control system design, programming, commissioning, tuning, troubleshooting and training for power plant DCS and PLC control systems across the United States. We are proficient with Emerson Ovation and Siemens T3000 DCS, and Rockwell Automation PLC platforms.
Project management
Principal consultant Brian Smith is a certified PMP and has managed numerous control system and other industrial capital projects. CSC can provide project planning, scope definition, scheduling (with MS Project), RFQs, subcontractor management, cost control and reporting, commissioning coordination and project close-out.
PLC and hmi PROGRAMMING
CSC provides design, configuration and programming services for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and PC-based human machine interfaces (HMIs). Platform experience includes Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC), Rockwell Software (RSView, FactoryTalk), Honeywell (HC900) and Wonderware (InTouch).
commissioning support
CSC is highly experienced in the practice of commissioning new and modified control systems at the plant site. We prepare commissioning documentation and support loop checks, operational readiness testing and functional testing. We work side-by side with plant operators and technicians throughout the commissioning period.
Control system documentation
CSC prepares control system documentation including control narratives, network diagrams, I/O lists, panel schematics and layouts, instrument specifications, loop diagrams, SAMA logic diagrams and functional test procedures prepared in industry-standard formats (.dwg, .pdf, .vsd, .xlsx, .docx, etc.).
Troubleshooting and training
Process control systems function at their best when plant personnel are kept informed and deficiencies are consistently addressed via detailed troubleshooting. CSC emphasizes attention-to-detail and communication with client personnel in our approach to all projects and services.
